Gary Oldman and video games are going hand in hand these days. Gary will be joining a group of stars in a brand new PC Game titled “Star Citizen” which has been in the works since 2011.

Wing Commander had Mark Hamill. Tachyon: The Fringe had Bruce Campbell. Privateer 2: The Darkening had Clive Owen and John Hurt. What I’m saying is that space games and famous actors go together like chocolate and my fat mouth. Star Citizen is the latest—and Cloud Imperium has pulled out all the stops thanks to all that money people keep funnelling into its game.

It’s just been announced at CitizenCon that the ambitious space sim thingy stars Gary Oldman. Yep, Gary Oldman from Batman, The Fifth Element, and other films. BUT WAIT it also stars Gillian Anderson off them X-Files, acting alongside Mark Strong, Mark Hamill, John Rhys Davies, Andy Serkis, and more people who aren’t quite as famous.

Oldman and co. are are the stars of Squadron 42, Star Citizen’s single-player component, and there’ll doubtless be more details about the game flying out of CitizenCon this weekend.

Gary will be joining an elite group of actors and actresses as he has signed on to be a part of the upcoming Lego action-adventure video game.

There is a lot of buzz happening around the latest Lego action-adventure video game…

After Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, TT Games and The LEGO Group have released a new LEGO Dimension video, it unveiled some of the famous voices that players would be experiencing in this “multi-dimensional” gameplay.

Lego Dimensions will put together 14 of the fan favourite dimensions from film, television and games, with their principal actors lending their voice for authenticity.

To start the list, the starter pack includes, Batman (DC Comics), Gandalf (Lord of the Rings) and Wyldstyle (The Lego Movie) – featuring of course the voice of Troy Baker as Batman and Elizabeth Banks as Wyldstyle (sadly though, no Ian McKellan).

The next levels include Back to the Future, with Michael J. Fox reprising his Marty McFly role and Christopher Lloyd; Doctor Who, with the Twelfth Dr. Who, Peter Capaldi and other Dr. Who’s using their archive voice; The Simpsons, with Dan Castellaneta, Harry Shearer and Hank Azaria; and Ghostbusters with Frank Welker as Dr. Peter Venkman, Dan Aykroyd as Dr. Raymond Stantz and Ernie Hudson as Winston Zeddemore.

Also doing their voice bit on the game are Chris Pratt, lending his voice again as Emmet Brickowoski and Owen Grady for The Lego Movie and Jurassic World respectively; and Scooby-Doo characters played by Mindy Cohn as Velma Dinkley, Matthew Lillard as Shaggy (Frank Welker again this time as Scooby); Tara Strong as Harley Quinn; and of course the great Gary Oldman who plays the role of evil mastermind Lord Vortech.

The list goes on with other great actors and voice over talents like Ellen McLain, Stephen Merchant, Joel McHale and Laura Bailey.

It is not just the game that the fans are anticipating, it is also the experience of hearing all these fantastic artists in one game that’s making them all wish it is already the 27th.

Lego Dimensions releases September 27th, 2015 and will appear on Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4 and Wii U.

There are many great actors who haven’t won Oscars, but who tops the list?

According to Ranker.com, Gary Oldman is the greatest actor to have never taken home the acting trophy. The Brit, known for his role as James Gordon in the Dark Knight trilogy, has been nominated just once for the best actor Oscar in 2011 for his work in Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.

Ranker.com crowdsources public opinion to create ranked lists. This list received nearly 34,000 votes that were then processed by the Ranker algorithm, which considers factors such as the ratio of upvotes to downvotes and the raw number of upvotes and downvotes.

Coming in at No. 2 on the list is Leonardo DiCaprio, who has been nominated four times in the acting categories for What’s Eating Gilbert Grape, The Aviator, Blood Diamond and The Wolf of Wall Street.

Rounding out the top three is Johnny Depp. The Finding Neverland and Pirates of the Caribbean star has been nominated three times since 2003.

Only one current nominee made the top five. Edward Norton, who is up for the supporting actor Oscar for his work in Birdman, came in at No. 4. Rounding out the top 10 were Ian McKellen, Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes, Robert Downey Jr., Harrison Ford and Clint Eastwood.

People voted differently based on their ages and genders. Women and people under 30 picked DiCaprio as their No. 1, while men and people over 30 chose Oldman. DiCaprio was also popular with votes in the Northeast, South and Midwest, while Oldman won with votes on the West Coast and abroad.

People who voted for Oldman also voted for McKellen, while DiCaprio fans were also Norton supporters.

Ranker uses crowdsourced votes and rankings to determine lists ranging from The Best Board Games to The Best Movies of All Time.

Shia LaBeouf (Transformers, upcoming Fury), Emmy nominee Kate Mara (Netflix’s House of Cards, upcoming The Fantastic Four) and Oscar nominee Gary Oldman (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, The Dark Knight Rises) are set to star in the psychological thriller, Man Down, it was announced today by producers Dawn Krantz (Doonby), Stephen McEveety (The Passion of the Christ) and Jon Burton (The Lego Movie).

Dito Montiel (A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints, Fighting) will direct from a screenplay by Adam Simon (Synapse).

Currently in pre-production, principal photography is scheduled to start on October 30th in Louisiana.

The Solution Entertainment Group (“The Solution”) is handling international rights and will present the project to buyers at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Lisa Wilson and Myles Nestel from The Solution are also executive producing the project alongside Roger Goff. Also slated to executive produce are Russell Geyser and Clay Pecorin. Patrick Hibler will co-produce the feature film.

The film tells the story of a haunted Afghanistan war veteran who attempts to come to terms with his past while searching for his family in a post-apocalyptic America.

Here’s what producer Dawn Krantz had to say about the project in a statement.

“When I read this script for the first time I knew it was something very special. We are so thrilled to be able to have put together such an exemplary cast with an outstanding director to tell the story.”

Executive producers Lisa Wilson and Myles Nestel had this to say in a joint statement.

“Given the current landscape of packaging an independent film, we’re ecstatic to come on board Man Down which is a high-quality project with a superb, A-list cast attached. We are certain our international buyers will embrace this tense thriller at Toronto.”

Man Down is in development and stars Shia LaBeouf, Kate Mara, Gary Oldman. The film is directed by Dito Montiel.

Riding his success with the blockbuster Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Gary Oldman will join Kevin Costner in the upcoming action thriller, Criminal. The storyline centers on an attempt by the U.S. government to thwart a diabolical plot by implanting the memories and skills of a dead CIA operative into the mind and body of a dangerous and unpredictable prison inmate.

This far-fetched premise sounds like a recipe for international disaster. But the most difficult thing to swallow about the picture is that Costner has been cast as the jail bird, a thief who chooses to participate in the medical experiment as an alternative to prison. The character may be a stretch for the suave leading man, but this genre is familiar territory to Costner. Earlier this year he played a CIA agent in the thriller, 3 Days to Kill.

Oldman will play the CIA boss who heads the inventive strategy. The film also stars Eric Bana, fresh off his portrayal of Ralph Sarchie in this year’s Deliver Us From Evil.

Directing the project is Ariel Vromen, known for the 2012 crime biopic, The Iceman. The script was drafted by the screenwriting duo Douglas Cook and David Weisberg, the team responsible for penning such thrillers as Double Jeopardy and The Rock.
